Defining Deployment Mode and Other Details
This section is relevant only for Cloud Products/Entitlements.
Using Deployment Mode, you can specify whether your protected application will be hosted on cloud or will be installed locally.
Cloud
If you select Cloud, you can specify the Entitlement Type from the following:
>Un-named: Unlimited number of end users associated with the Customer can use the Entitlement items.
>Named: You can define multiple end users who can use the Entitlement items.
If you select Named, the Number of Identities field appears. In this field, you can define the number of end users (Identities) who can use the Entitlement items. To add/remove Identities for the Entitlement see Managing Identities.
On-premises
If you select On-premise, the Caching Type field appears. This specifies how your on-premises application requests and caches licenses from Cloud Connect Server. The following options are available:
>Feature Level: An application explicitly requests license for the required Features from the Cloud Server. This is primarily meant for applications running on client machines. This type of on-premises licensing is meant for client applications. The licenses are fetched directly from Cloud Connect for the requesting user. The licenses for only the requested features are bought to an on-premises client machine based on a user identity, so this type of licensing is called as Feature Level licensing.
>Entitlement Level: This is primarily meant for server applications. In this caching type, the licenses for all Products/Features in an Entitlement are brought to an on-premises server, which then locally serves licenses to clients. If you select this option, the following fields appear:
>Station Count: The maximum number of clients to whom the entitlement can be served. Enter a value in the range (1 - 50).
>Max Registration Count: The maximum number of machines that can be registered for the entitlement. Enter a value in the range (1 - 1000). You can select the Unlimited check box to automatically set the value to 1000.
Allow Customers to Manage:
•Fingerprints: Select this check box to enable the manage of fingerprints using the customer portal.
•Active Stations: Select this check box to enable the management of active machines using the customer portal.
>VM Control : Enable or disable protection against virtual machine cloning and specify whether the application can run in a virtualized environment.
•VM Enabled: Select this check box to specify whether or not the protected application can run in virtualized environment. By default it is automatically selected.
•Clone Protection: Select this check box to enable protection against virtual machine cloning. By default it is automatically selected.
