Battery Replacement Notification

The battery in the Sentinel EMS Master key has a life expectancy of approximately seven years. When the battery is almost depleted, Sentinel EMS displays a notification every time you log on to the portal. If the battery dies before you replace it, you cannot create new licenses.

We recommend that you request a replacement Master key as soon as you see this notification. The replacement key is shipped free of charge along with instructions that describe how to use the Vendor Key License Transfer Tool to transfer licenses from the old Master key to the replacement Master key.

After you transfer the licenses to the new Master key, the old Master key becomes invalid and cannot be used.

NOTE   It may take up to 24 hours for the depleted battery key notification to disappear after you transfer the licenses to the replacement Master key. If you continue to see this notification after 24 hours, contact Gemalto customer service.

To request a replacement battery:

1.Click the link inside the notification.

Your default e-mail client opens a pre-composed e-mail addressed to Gemalto.

If you do not have an e-mail client installed, see the Requesting a Replacement Vendor Key Appendix in the Sentinel LDK Software Protection and Licensing Guide.

2.Read the text of the e-mail and enter the required information.

3.Send the e-mail.
